About Us

X-alt Quartet is a southern gospel group that has been in existence since 2002, starting as 5 guys trying to get a song together to sing at a talent show at church. From there they have become a quartet of Jason Laule, Marty McKee, Eric Garrett and Steve Bell.
They have performed at the Forney and Wylie Opry, several prisons, and churches.

After putting together some patriotic songs, including the National Anthem, they have sung for the Texas Rangers, The Fort Worth Blue Sox and several county Republican meetings including Kaufman, Bell and Collin counties.  They have also performed at a national seniors conference in Branson Missouri.

 Meet the Group

Jason Laule
Jason Laule

Jason Laule, the tenor/lead in the group, was born in Linden, TX and grew up in Queen City, TX.His father was a minister of music at New Hope Baptist Church in Bloomburg, TX.  As a result, Jason has been in choirs since he was old enough to talk.

Jason has been in choirs that have sung the National Anthem at a New York Mets baseball game as well as at Walt Disney World. In 1993-1994 he was a member of the Texas Baptist All-State Choir.

Jason and his wife Brandy have two children – Trenton and Kimberlyn. They live in Forney, TX.

Marty McKee

Marty, the tenor/lead in the group, was born and raised in the Dallas, TX area and music has always been a special part of his life.  Since a young boy he has been drawn to singing and found himself in music venues of various kinds, from choirs to male trios/quartets and mixed quartets.  It was in college that singing and music ministry ultimately led him away from his love of playing baseball to serving the Lord through music.

Marty has spent most of his life serving in different areas of pastoral ministries, such as children, youth, adult, small group, education, preaching and teaching.   But God has kept his love for ministering through music strong which has led him to join X-alt as our tenor.

Marty is married to his beautiful wife, Heidi, and has three children: Isaac, Rhea and Abby.  They currently live in Forney, TX.

Eric Garrett

Eric began singing in the third grade, when his mother “volunteered” him to sing in the school choir. Eric was not happy at all, but did as his mother wished.

Eric has been singing in choirs ever since, with the exception of the 9th grade when he was “too cool” to sing in choir.

Eric is the baritone of X-alt and we’re glad he decided choirs were “cool.”

Eric and his wife Rhonda reside in Forney, TX with 2 of their children still at home – Amanda and Alyssa.
